another Christmas birdy

Keeping with the bird theme from two posts ago here is another version of the bird from the stamp set "Always" as a red robin. I've used the scallop edge punch to make the matt for the birdy and the scallop oval punch around the sentiment which is only available while the Spring mini last - til the end of November. Hopefully we'll get it again in the big catalogue next year! I've done a bit of sponging on this card and used Baroque Motifs for the background. I think this little birdy wouldn't attack anyone - even for a prawn cutlet! Colours: Garden Green, Real Red, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

4 weeks old today

I can't believe that four weeks has passed already! It has gone so quickly and in one way I think "excellent we have made it through the first four weeks already and it hasn't been too hard" and then another part of me thinks "wow that went so fast he'll be big before I know it!" Thankfully I have been able to really enjoy looking after him - today was our first full day at home with all three boys. Thankfully good friends came over for the afternoon and I actually managed to have a sleep - how awesome - thanks TnTnC! And then my gorgeous 5 year old took all the washing (three loads!) off the line all by himself (while standing on a chair) while I was dealing with two other unhappy fellows - what a champion!

little holiday and bird attack!

My hubby had last week off to help us settle in with the baby but we also decided to treat it as a mini holiday too so on Friday with the gorgeous weather we were having we decided to go to the beach. We had fish and chips for lunch at Dee Why. As you can see the water was such a beautiful colour. It was Josh's first visit to the beach, not that he saw anything, he slept through whole thing except for feeding. The boys loved playing at the waters edge which was a bit chilly for my liking but okay up to the ankles. The only eventful things was as I turned my head to tell Toby (for the 100th time) "get out of Josh's face" a seagull pecked my thumb as it tried to take off with the prawn cutlet I was holding - cheeky thing! Sorry no action shot of that though - just a photo of the boys and me - usually I'm behind the camera but this time it was hubby's turn.

spring wattle

Some very simple and clean designs using the Soft Summer stamp set from the Spring Mini. I think these lend themselves to the more masculine receiver :)

Josh update

Life's very busy here at the moment but thankfully I have my husband home for the week - actually I think that's part of why it's very busy! He doesn't like to sit still!
My mum went home on Sunday after three weeks of washing, ironing and keeping the home running basically. She was wonderful and we are missing her! And I know she is missing this little guy who is changing already!
Isn't he cute? (rhetorical question there :)

pun fun

This is such a cute set I love it! I had fun with my niece creating these little note cards to sell at the Idea of North concert we had at church a while ago. We were raising money for Allowah Childrens Hospital.
The other set I used is the Short and Sweet set which has 6 fabulous sayings but also 6 cute little images that match and make the perfect background images that go with so many other stamp sets like this one.
This is star is from the Christmas Set Season of Joy.
This flower from Short and Sweet almost matches the skunks flower perfectly!
And finally the swirly image is from Trendy Trees another cute little set.

perfect timing

You may remember we planted a garden in memory of my Dad after he passed away at the beginning of July. Well his favourite rose the Peace rose, has bloomed so beautifully in time for my mum being here to help with Joshua Ted's arrival.
For such a little bush to bloom ten flowers is quite a show!
The rest of the garden is growing well too and the rain we got this week has made things fresh.
Perfect timing!
