I'm off to SU! Convention today in Canberra. I don't know whether I'm looking forward to 2 days of stamping or 3 days of uninterrupted time more! Don't get me wrong I love these two but the thought of being able to think or just sit for twenty minutes without someone asking me to do something is so blissful I'm really looking forward to it. I probably won't know what to do with myself - but I'm sure it wont take me long to figure it out! Anyway off to pack the winter woollies. Will let you know all about it when I get back. And my new camera is up and going (yay!) so there'll be heaps of photos to show! The new memory card has a 3,500 photo capacity so my hubby is a bit scared of how many he'll have to sit through (with interest) when I get back ;) So my last camera did over 12,000 photos in under 5 years. I wonder how this one will go? The challenge is set.

Images © Stampin' Up!® 1990-2008 This is from one of the new hostess sets called Punches Three. I used Rose Red cardstock to match the Raspberry Tart ds paper, stamped in Rose Red ink and punched with my new Wide Oval Punch. I very simple card so to add some detail faux stitching went around the outside. This is another of the make and takes we are doing this weekend at my launch. Email me if you can come!

The trees along the bottom are Trendy Trees wheel and the colour scheme is old olive, riding hood red, ballet blue and chocolate chip with a touch of summer sun for the birdies feet and beaks. Excuse the image - as my camera's died I have resorted to the scanner which doesn't give as nice an image but hopefully the new camera we ordered online will arrive tomorrow - very excited - just in time for Convention weekend after next!!!

I love this set and used it recently at a course I did at Parramatta Community College to teach three techniques. One being watercolouring which I showed on my last post and is used here... two being paper piecing as shown here... upline Marelle. It really shows how one stamp set can be so versatile and how one layout can be done in different techniques and colours to give very different results. I wonder which is your favourite? I love creating different things for a class. I try to use really different colour schemes which sometimes can be really difficult as I tend to naturally go for the ones that I like so I use the inspiration found on Splitcoast Stampers to help me choose things out of my comfort zone. But the pleasure comes when the people in my class each prefer a different colour scheme and I know I have catered for all tastes.

I'm a bit sad as our camera died when my husband took it to the F1 Melbourne Grand Prix two weekends ago. It just gave up taking images, but I guess it has worked pretty hard over the time we've had it. We bought it the day before our first was born, in fact, I was at home with my waters broken and hubby's on the phone going "do you think we should get this one? or this one? and should we go extended warranty?" (actually I should look into whether we did or not?)
my reply was "just get one and get home!!!" Anyway it wasn't til a day later that Tobes was actually born and by then we'd had time to work out how to use it thankfully so we could take photos like this one...awww! A very proud daddy. and thishow cute! I think in it's first year the camera had taken over 1000 photos - you could say I was quite obsessed. Those of you who are scrappers will then know the implications of this - eek! and back on the 14th Nov 08 it cracked the 10,000 mark and had to start counting over again. The last image it took was it's 12,146th photo or video. So I guess it has served us well! But at the moment I am without a camera to take photos of all my delicious new goodies from the new catalogue. I shall have to drag out some old images in the meantime til we work out something new. So here's one of my favourite set from SAB in a wedding card, Botanical Blooms.
This is uses the watercolouring technique and I have used this set in various techniques which I may be able to show over the coming days. Back later! and have a Happy Easter!
