SO here's a quick recap.... the weekend before last we headed up to Bathurst to see the in-laws and go to the Bathurst Show where we saw the pig races... ate nutritionally sound food.... and were winners on the clowns (who isn't?)... then when we got home my parents arrived and spent most of the week with us so there was a visit to Liverpool for a check up for my Dad, who got good results - hooray! and a trip on the new Epping to Chatswood train line (which was my 3 year olds first train trip) then I worked Thursday and Friday and had a workshop Friday night (hi Girls!) and then Saturday was Jakey's 3rd birthday so there was preparations all morning and then the party in the afternoon and family dinner at night..... here's Jake cheating on the donut on the clothesline game... his Plex cake from Yo Gabba Gabba... and some Foofa and Muno cupcakes... Sunday, not to be outdone, started with church, choir rehearsal, a trip up the central coast to visit my brother's family, which included a visit to the Emergency Room for my nephew (who is fine thankfully), then a race against time to get back home in time to drive with my sister to Penrith to see Dave Campbell perform (thanks to my friends Penny and Adam). We met him afterwards and he gave us a kiss, such a charmer with a very cheeky sense of humour. It was a great show.
Then you'd think my Monday I'd be totally exhausted but after preschool drop off, the gym and shopping my stamping group came over to help make invites for my Nephews wedding. I am doing 70 invites and 100 orders of service covers. They are now well underway thanks to them! Anyway enough of my crazy week, I'm off to work today but I'll be back soon with cards....

I am so sorry it's been ages since I was last here!!! and I haven't announced my Blog Candy winner - how terrible! My real life has been getting in the way of my virtual life - how very naughty of it! I've had a fantastic week and a half but there has not been a moment to sit down or think much. I'll be back later with an explanation... so on to my blog candy winner... My mum randomly selected number 11 so the winner is... Kathryn Mangelsdorf
Kathryn please email me with your address so I can send it to you. I shall post a photo soon of what it is too! back soon...

Images © Stampin' Up!® 1990-2008 Here's another gift set for a little friend, I love personalising gifts and this one was based on the really cute corduroy dress that we got her. I was most proud of my hubby who scoured the shops in town and came home with a winner then got out the ink pads and the Wild About You stamp set to do the bag. I forgot to take a photo of the dress! I am most pleased that Wild About You is not on the retired list so I can play for another year! The colour scheme and layout inspiration came straight from the dress. I used Wild Wasabi- selling out fast!, Rose Red, Regal Rose and Choc Chip. Also the little letters are from Alphabits stamp set p110 now $22.46 (you get four different fonts) and the 1/4" square punch also retiring now $8.63. Don't forget today is the last day to enter my Blog Candy give away - see this post for what to do!

I haven't done a Kristina Werner Colour Challenge for ages but I wanted to make a card for my niece who's going through a rough time at the moment and this colour scheme suited her.
I also wanted to use this stamp set as it's in the current mini and is gorgeous and I've hardly played with it. Lacking inspiration and time I went onto the Splitcoast Stampers website. For those who've never visited it's a fantastic resource and one of my favourite parts is the galleries for every SU! stamp set with photos of different designs other stampers have made using the set. I went to the top right link that says "Gallery" and then found the SU! gallery and searched for "A Happy Heart" the name of the set, which is listed under H by the way and found this card which I thought was stunning so I CASE'd it and just changed the colours.

This is a card I made for a little friend of ours who recently turned 4. I had borrowed the Outline Alphabet from my friend, (thanks Marelle!) and had great fun doing paper piecing with it. This technique is a great way if using up any left over tiny bits of patterned paper which if you like me and have any Scottish roots then you save everything! So while this alphabet is not on the retiring list - hooray! - the ds paper used is! Bits of Dashing, Petals and Paisley and Spring Break have been used and the red one was from one last years Simply Scrappin' Kits that retired a year ago but I had a scrap that suited perfectly. I have to tell you a 'Mere Male' story just as I was finishing this card my hubby asked "Who is it for?" I had to look at him for a while to work out if he was joking as we often do have that kind of humour but he had sounded completely serious when he asked it. To his credit he hadn't really looked at it but needless to say I didn't need to answer him.
I used the In the Stars set for the Summer mini to stamp the paper. I have a huge roll of plain white paper that I use when I want the paper to match the card or present or both and I have the time to make it. It looks great when it does all goes together. Check out the retiring list it's quickly disappearing so if you want anything order quickly.
